Church in Claremont
Solid Rock Church was planted in Claremont in 2014 at Flappers Comedy Club in Downtown.
why a new church?
We planted Solid Rock Church in Claremont because we believed that Jesus wanted to reach a hyper-modern, post-christian, intellectual community of millennials and students. We saw thousands of students at the Claremont Colleges who were desperate for answers. We saw a community if retired, successful professionals who were still searching for meaning. We saw a group of people who tried to find hope in politics and policy. All of this was in Claremont. We realized that the people of Claremont were desperate for answers- and Jesus has them.
In many ways, the city of Claremont serves as an epicenter of culture; a meeting place for like-minds, for kin. We saw this and thought that this was the place to be- right in the middle of them. We planted in Claremont because of it's rich history of churches and christianity as well. Claremont is a small college town that started around a local college that was originally a seminary. We wanted to be right here, in a redemptive way, beckoning this redemption to order.
Ultimately we're believing in a church planting movement. We're believing that as we make more disciples, as we train more leaders, we will HAVE to plant significantly more churches in Claremont and beyond. We want to see churches in the entire Pomona Valley. Claremont, Upland, La Verne, Rancho Cucamonga, Pomona, San Dimas, Glendora, Chino, Chino Hills, everywhere. We wants to see it in Claremont as it is in Heaven.
We are the church in Claremont.
