STILL PLANTING

In 2022 we shared a vision that would take us 10 years into the future. We believe we are called to keep planting churches, keep training leaders, and keep making disciples. We also believed that Jesus, our senior pastor, was calling us to relocate our offices and gathering space in the name of freeing up resources to keep planting churches. In short, we are still planting. At present, we’re considering the purchase of 325 N Indian Hill in the heart of Downtown Claremont as a new space for public gatherings of worship. Join us in prayer and feedback and we collectively consider this potential.

We’re looking to purchase a new gathering space.

For the last 2 years, we’ve been looking for a new permanent gathering location. 325 N Indian Hill Blvd used to be an old memorial chapel in the heart of downtown Claremont. This historic space could give us the longevity we need to continue to make disciples, train leaders, and plant churches in the Pomona Valley and beyond!

We’d love to hear your feedback and concern for this potential purchase. Your voice matters and we would love to know what you think.

  • Built in 1954

This beautiful space was built with intention and reminds us of the sacred nature of following Jesus. The main sanctuary has over 500sf of stained glass.

  • Unique Space

As the only church facility in downtown Claremont, this unique space will offer pew seating for 240+ adults and an auditorium/classrooms for 40+ kids.

  • Leveraged Future

Investing in this space means that our future capacity to be generous, invest in church planting, and pursue justice is strengthened for decades to come.

Helpful Answers

  • The current asking price for this building is $2.5 million. We believe our purchase price will be less.

  • We will also want more seating space. Our current space seats 220, so it’s technically more, but our desire is for a second gathering as soon as the fall. We believe that the kids space will be more than enough.

  • This building has 20 onsite parking spots but it includes access to alley parking, street parking, and a public parking lot. For reference, if you park in the public lot and walk to the new facility you walk will be equal to parking in the dirt lot and walking to the auditorium at our current facility.

  • We absolutely hope to. The building has sweeping walnut veneer, walnut planking, and beautiful stained glass and brick. We hope to maintain all of that in our ownership.

  • The building was intentionally built as a Memorial Chapel, so it’s never had a functional interior space for a church. We would need to build out a kids space, lobby, and new restrooms. The auditorium and utilities seem to be in great shape.

  • No, we’re still stay faithfully committed to building groups of disciple-missionaries who love the Pomona Valley. If anything, we believe that looking for a new gathering location is a distraction for our team and this new permanence will help us focus more on our vision.

  • Of course! We are and will stay committed to our spanish church plant, Salvo Por Gracia. Pastor Hector is an integral part of this process as well.

  • We will continue to love and serve Pomona. We will continue to be a church for the Pomona Valley and long to be a church that accurately reflects her beauty and diversity.

  • We do believe that this will create more work on the front end of remodel for our staff. Ultimately, it will bring some relief for our staff in the future as we have a permanent space that requires less pivoting.

  • We do anticipate raising $250k for the initial phase of a remodel. This remodel will build out around 2000sf of kids space, lobby space, a courtyard, and new restrooms.

  • What a great moment that will be. We started with 12 people in downtown Claremont and we never dreamed we would be a couple of hundred in Downtown Claremont. When and if the time comes to expand, we believe Jesus will guide us to the next steps.

  • Simply, yes. We’ll be able to put a considerable down payment on this property and maintain a small mortgage with a 10 year or less term.
